Project Completion-Carpeting

I know I mentioned in a previous post that I started repainting the house.  This was in preparation to replace the carpeting.  This project I started at least 4 years ago.  This past November the project was completed.  I finished painting the last room needed and the carpet was ordered.  For the most part, all of the painting was complete except my bedroom and closets.  The thought of emptying the closets and the room seemed so daunting and the longer I waited the worse it became.  The main reason was that I would need to ask for help.  Those that know me know this is an area where I struggle.  I never want to bother others with what I want to do.  The conversation finally occurred and I asked hubby for help. We emptied the closet and room and in less than two days the paint was complete. This also began a domino effect of cleaning and purging.  In order to prepare for the carpet I started packing anything that was not needed for the next couple of weeks to make moving the furniture easier. During this time we picked out a new couch and some bar tables for the living room. The carpet was installed and the couch was delivered.  Three rooms of carpet plus the stairs, it was a long day.  It was so worth the effort.  The biggest takeaways from this project were that asking for help was not horrible and it really helped move the project along and without the clutter I feel so much better. Recently I read something that instead of asking if something brings you joy you should ask, do I want to take care of this.  I am not sure where I read this but it is the mantra I am using as I unpack and reset the house.  I will dive into this in another post.  What projects have you been avoiding or have avoided only to find it was not so bad?  How did you tackle your project?  I would love to hear about it in the comments.  Thank you for reading.
