2022 Year End Review-Reading

I used to be an avid reader,  then life and the pull of televisions and cell phones diminished the amount I read.  I do love a good self-help book and would read 3-5 per year but to read a book for pleasure with no learning required was something I had not done since Dan Brown’s book The Davinci Code was the hot new read.  I borrowed the book from a friend and then read everything the library had in stock that he wrote.  While working on my degree I did not have time for pleasure reading and when I finished school the pull of the self-help books called.  Last year my children challenged me to read a book for pleasure.  I went to the library for a recommendation as there are just so many books, how do you choose?  I told the librarian I enjoyed Dan Brown’s writing style, what would she suggest?  Enter James Rollins.  I started with Amazonian and loved it, mystery, suspense, and science what’s not to love. I finished that book within a week and picked up a second book from his collection.  My next trip to the library I was looking to see if James Rolling carried the characters of one book into another and while looking I found three books with the same character, little did I realize I grabbed the wrong Rollins and found David. There are seven books in the Vin Cooper series and I went through them in less than two months.  I am hoping he writes another as the seventh left me with a cliffhanger.  I read twenty books in 2022 and only six of them were in the self-help genre.  I hope to continue this pattern into 2023. My complete booklist can be found under the pages tab.  What was your favorite book you read in 2022? Let me know in the comments, I could alway use a new recommendation.
