Acupuncture

One of the suggestions of my doctor to help with my migraines was to try acupuncture.  The one they recommended was over an hour away and my brief attempt to find a provider closer did not prove fruitful.  Between you and me I was in no rush to try this.  About two years ago my chiropractor informed me he was moving his practice so he could expand the services provided.  His move was just up a floor in his building and he was bringing on an acupuncturist.  The best news was that it would be covered under my health insurance.  I ran out of excuses. I made an appointment.  On my first visit I was nervous and I was very tense.  The first session was a trial run, just a few spots to see how it goes. The pain from the needles is minimal and goes away, there is no discomfort.  The acupuncturist is a great person who puts you at ease.  While I mainly go for my migraines, I have also had her work on my ankle and she has done some stress relief for me. I try to go on a regular basis but as we all know that does not always happen.  This past year I hit a point where my migraines were over 10 days apart so I cut back on the acupuncture sessions.  Within two weeks I noticed the migraines becoming more frequent.  I called and set up four appointments for the next two months.  While I cannot pinpoint anything specific, It does make me feel better.  I do feel it helps with my migraines and it is very relaxing.  I look forward to the time, sometimes I even fall asleep there.  Have you ever tried acupuncture?  I would love to hear about your experience in the comments.  Thank you for reading.
