Yes, Another Post About My Hair
Written previously, just now posting.
It has been just over a year since my last hair cut. I have been waiting trying to let my hair grow out. I had a plan for my next haircut and made an appointment with a new stylist. As I dug out a picture of the hair style I thought I wanted I came to a realization. Things are not always how you remember them. For my fortieth birthday I had a roller skating party. I encouraged everyone to dress in the style of the 70’s or 80’s. I wanted a feathered hair style, like Farrah Faucet if you are old enough to remember the Charlie’s Angels television series. I went to my hair stylist at the time and the only way to accomplish my goal was to cut my hair to get the layers and feathers. I was happy with the result and even after the party I thought it was a great hairstyle. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago when I found a picture from that night to take to the new stylist. While I accomplished my goal the night of my party, looking at the picture it wasn’t quite as I remembered and I wasn’t sure if that was the style I truly wanted. After showing the picture to my girls, one suggested I show the picture to the stylist and ask her to give me a modern version. Off to the stylist I went. After showing her the picture and telling her what my daughter said she had a plan. No length would be lost, curtain bangs and layers would be added. Thirty minutes later I had a new look. I fell in love with the style but remained guarded. I am sure we all have left the salon with a great cut and a week later the hair honeymoon is over and you wonder what happened. After the first week it still looked great. Yes, it takes a bit of work in the morning but the results are worth it. I am just starting week three with the new style and I think I need to get the bangs trimmed again. It still looks good but the curl is not lasting all day due to the weight of my hair. I am curious to see how the style evolves as my hair gets longer. I am sure this won’t be the last post about my hair. Do you have a favorite hairstyle from your past or do you currently sport your favorite look? Please tell me about it in the comments.
