Hidden Gem- Cape Tech Cosmetology School Beauty Salon

This past May my girls and I went to our annual appointment at the Cape May County Technical School District beauty Salon.  The salon is operated by students in the Adult Cosmetology Evening School. I forget how I originally found out about this hidden Gem but I have gone off and on for at least the last 20 years.  The students in the program are coming to the end of the program and the first two weeks the salon is open to the public for friends and family.  After that they open to the general public.  The lead instructor is attentive and walks the room to oversee the work being done. The prices are very affordable and it is a great way to pamper yourself without breaking the bank.  A spa facial this year was $18, and a shampoo, cut, blow-dry starts at $15.  They also do coloring and manicures.  They now accept credit cards and tips for the students are always appreciated.  This year the salon was open from the end of April to the end of May.  If you want to make an appointment next year I suggest calling in the middle of April in the evening. If you are not in this area, try calling your local vocational school as other vocational schools offer similar student salons.
