Organization Season

There are two times a year that get me excited, back to school and organization season.  Every January I get excited when I see the aisle full of new storage containers.  The possibilities are endless how I can more efficiently organize the stuff around my home and even my car.  Seven years ago, I was provided with a blank slate after our house fire and I have made a point to use bins and label them to organize everything possible. While I feel I have a good system for all the stuff I feel there is a need for better organization for our chores.  I have tried printed chore list trackers for myself and children to keep track of items needing to be completed but they soon get lost in the clutter on the counter or get ignored hanging on the fridge.  This season I have decided to try out a new system.  I purchased a large picture frame and printed headings for daily and monthly chores, notes for Mom and special projects. I added a spot for a weekly dinner menu and arranged them in the frame.  I color-coded weekly and monthly chore items and for now, cut them out and affixed them to the board with tape.  The hypothesis is that as each person completes a chore, they move it to their spot to let others know it is completed.  I printed multiple items for things like loading the dishwasher and put dishes away that get done daily.  Tomorrow I plan to print out dinner items we eat on a regular basis for the board, but we can also write in new dinner items with dry-erase markers.  I still need to add a spot to keep paper, pen, and tape so special projects and notes for Mom can be added as needed.  I will let you know how it goes.  Feel free to comment below and give your chore tracking suggestions.
